I have been very slack in the updating of the news page, although I continue to keep up to date with all the other content. Three of our 2018 foals have now headed to their new homes with owners extremely pleased with their purchases. The remaining three foals will be retained, two fillies and one colt. Due to the drought, we have made the hard decision to sell or lease some of our mares to other studs and just keep a core group for now. With the keeping of several very special young fillies, in addition to these mares, we feel our female line is well on track. We will announce come spring our new Riding Pony stallion. Just putting this line out there to get everyone intrigued... This already very successful pony will stand along side Ascot in Concert. And it is hoped that Yurrugar Dream On will go on to be our 12hh stallion. Time will tell.
Mirinda Grenadier aka Pete, first show in his whole life at 11yo done and dusted. Super tense but actually behaved very well! Finalist in the led show hunter Riding Pony of the year not over 12.2hh. And our Malibu Park Top Notch won the 3yo show hunter Riding Pony championship. Grenadier was a lovely little gem found in the back paddock at Mirinda Stud and although he has some age on him, he still looks amazing and has now been broken in to prepare for a saddle career.
Lovely start to our show season doing the Riding Pony Stud Book Society classes at Geelong Royal. Malibu Park Top Notch was the little star winning his class and going champion Show Hunter colt/gelding 3 years and under. He then went on to be supreme champion show hunter Riding Pony. Springhurst Chandelier won her mare class and went on to be Champion Show Pony mare. She looked amazing out there. I have fallen in love with this pony all over again. 2yo colt Kiabe Bianco handled his first outing well and looked amazing because of Luke and Reece. Thank you always to Nicolle Pearce for the superb browbands. RL Equine for the wonderful work they have done with Bianco and Lauren Britton for her dedication to producing Chandelier and Top Notch with us. All were handled so expertly by Luke Dawes and Reece Lawson. Thank you. Also thank you to the Riding Pony Stud Book Society Victorian Committee for the wonderful trophy rugs made by Shelley Penny. We went away with three!
This Autumn we have decided to exhibit two of our weanlings at a couple of the foal shows. Our sweet little filly Yurrugar Class Secret, and our rather dynamic colt Barefoot Park Holly's Pinnacle, bred by Julie Lloyd, have so far done us proud. We are very appreciative to Luke Dawes and Reece Lawson for their beautiful production and care of Winx and Albert.
